    Hi Larry and Bobbi,
I want to thank you for your signed book, “Embracing Cancer Embracing Life”. I have enjoyed your thoughts and positive attitude and faith. I am in my 3rd Cycle of Chemo to maintain my Breast Cancer that traveled to my Lung. My Chemo’s have maintained no growth in my Lung. I am sending you one of my Health Up-Date’s that I send to my family and many friends from Rim of the World Unified and Charter Oak Unified. Please add any suggestions that I can benefit from. I have great faith and positive attitude.
Please give my Love to Bobbi. She was an incredible Teacher at Grandview.
    Love, Bryan Shaw

    Hi Family and Friends,
I have been given a great gift with this illness. It is the gift of quietness. I am indeed fortunate to have the time to sit and read my devotionals and pray. Also, I love to spend time listening to the birds, wind chimes, and chatter from the students playing at recess from the Elementary School 100 yards from our house. The beauty of the world and my surroundings are truly a gift. I loved todays “Jesus Calling” August 3, 2016.
“Jesus Calling”, August 3, 2016: “WATCH YOUR WORDS DILIGENTLY. Words have such great power to bless or to wound. When you speak carelessly or negatively, you damage others as well as yourself. This ability to verbalize is an awesome privilege, granted only to those I created in my image. You need help in wielding this mighty power responsibly.
Though the world applauds quick-witted retorts, My instructions about communication are quite different: Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Ask My Spirit to help you whenever you speak. I have trained you to pray—“Help me, Holy Spirit”—before answering the phone and you have seen the benefits of this discipline. Simply apply the same discipline to communication with people around you. If they are silent, pray before speaking to them. If they are talking, pray before responding. These are split-second prayers, but they put you in touch with My Presence. In this way, your speaking comes under the control of My Spirit. As positive speech patterns replace your negative ones, the increase in your Joy will amaze you.

    Hello Larry –
And congratulations from a voice out of the past. Congratulations on many levels – one being your brave battle with the disease, and another being the publication of this fine work.
Our mutual friend Terry (Fitzpatrick) Cleary was kind enough to send me your book. I just finished it this very hour, and felt compelled to add my voice to the many who must be bombarding you with high compliments. Truly it is a gift for whomever opens their heart to receive. You are indeed a man with a very positive message.
Although I have been fortunate in not confronting Cancer myself, I have lost both father and a brother to it, and so much of your story is familiar to me. though not all.
In short, I very much enjoyed your book – and I sincerely wish you continued success and steadily improving good health.
Best wishes – My lovely wife Judy and I will lift a glass in your honor – to the positive ripple you’re sending out.
In all sincerity – Jack Shaughnessy

      Aloha Jack,

Thank you so much for your comments, I greatly appreciate them. Yes, that Terry, she’s a clever one! I so glad you liked the book because, although I wrote it primarily for those diagnosed with cancer, along with their family and friends, I’m finding many who have not been stricken are finding Embracing Cancer – Embracing Life a compelling and life-changing read. By the way, I recently read your book, Montego’s Tale and enjoyed it very much. Having owned horses back in the day, I found your story delightful and so truthful. Horses are amazing animals. Once when I was out for a late afternoon ride my horse kept stopping and pushing his nose against my left boot. Each time he did this I would pet his neck at urge him on. After this happened four or five times, I put my weight on my left stirrup, leaning over to have a look in his eye – that’s when I ended up underneath him, with my feet still in the stirrups, my Stetson hat under me. It seems that he was trying to tell me his cinch strap was loose. I’m so glad that didn’t happen when we got running in the river bed, it could have had deadly consequences. Thanks again.

Larry and Bobbie! You both continue to demonstrate what it means to live a life of pure joy and gratitude. Your example helps those who must face the challenge of cancer as well as those who support, care for, and love them. The excerpts I have read from your book, Embracing Cancer-Embracing Life, are raw and yet so uplifting; educational and inspirational. I can’t wait for the official release in Fall 2015! So happy for you…so proud of you! Keep on being our beacons of love and light!

Hi Larry, Bobbie!! back 5 years ago I recall you sharing with me of your desease. And yet, you were willing to continue to be the professional in your industry and together we were able to help others realize their dreams for the new kitchen/room etc – all the while going through the numerous therapies and medical procedures to conqure the desease. Also, the Nakamoto’s always ask about you when ever we see each other…I advised that you were still in the process of beating the desease; even as recent as last week. (They have 2 baths to remodel). I sent them your email…they will be thrilled! I am very pleased you included me in today’s email and I just added your blog site to my personal favorites. Looking forward to the release of the book and staying in touch; Much Aloha! Randy
